Hair.
Many people invest a significant part of their identity in the length, color, and style of their hair.
Especially straight women, when looking for a man, there is a discourse between long and short hair for us.
Which do guys prefer?
Long Hair
A staple of more traditional femininity.
There’s nothing wrong with women having long hair. Especially when it’s well cared for.
Most of the women I know have long hair. And it looks good on them.
Even I had long hair once upon a time when I was a child. And sometimes, I wish I could experience those braid trains, not that I know how to do a ponytail, much less a braid.
Short Hair
Less traditional, more modern. And a lot of women pull it off fantastically.
This is how I like my hair, and I’ve had several styles, including a bob and pixie cut.
It just feels more like me, even if my gender identity or sexual orientation is often questioned because of it. Which has happened a lot.
What Guys Prefer
In my experience, only my second ex didn’t care for my short hair, or at least how I styled my hair, even going so far as to style it for me. But that’s a whole other story.
However, every other guy I’ve met has liked my hair, a lot of them going out of their way to compliment me on it. And perhaps a few of them may have said that to make me feel good, but they all seemed genuine about it.
However, the shows and movies paint a different picture, often telling men to run if a woman has a pixie cut or a similar hairstyle.
Therefore, it appears to be a matter of personal preference.
Should You Change Your Hair for Anyone?
Of course not.
If someone doesn’t want to date you simply because of your hair, that person is shallow and is not worth your time or energy.
But if you’re feeling like you want to change it up, go for it!
